HARRY L. LINES

Funeral services for Harry L. Lines, 72, of Clearfield will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at 8 p.m. at the Chapel of Strange & Weaver Funeral Services, Morrisdale.

The Rev. Charles B. Jury will officiate.

Mr. Lines died Sunday, Feb. 1, at 10:26 p.m. at Clearfield Hospital. Interment will be at Bigler Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Born Nov. 12, 1836, at Clearfield, he was a son of Wilbur E. Sr. and Margaret (Luce) Lines.

Mr. Lines was Christian by faith.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Lines belonged to the Curwensville Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 268 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6.

Mr. Lines had worked as a heavy equipment operator for E. M. Brown Co., driving a cement mixer and working in the strip mines.

On March 8, 1958, he wed Barbra (Cowder) Lines, who died Jan. 25, 1998.

Mr. Lines is survives by two daughter, Delphine Jordan and her husband, Randy, of Clearfield and Gretchen Witherow and her husband Link, of Olanta; and two sons, Charles Lines and his wife, Branda, of Philipsburg and Edward Lines and his wife, Barb, of Curwensville.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Krista Spencer of Olanta, Justin Jordan, Lynn Lines and Jade Lines, all of Clearfield, Craig Lines of Philipsburg, Shawna and Shianne Witherow of Olanta, Chantel Reed of Hyde and Heidi Reed and Andrea Lines of Curwensville: and three great-grandchildren.

A sister, Carol Spingola of Clearfield, and a brother, Wilbur E. Lines of Clearfield, also survive.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lines was preceded in death by his parents, an infant granddaughter and an infant great-granddaughter.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Hospital Home Health Services, 438 W. Front St., Clearfield, PA 16830.

Harry’s house on Spruce Street in Clearfield, PA burned down in about 2005 and he lost all his belongings. He had been sick for a while with heart disease and diabetes and had lost part of a foot. He wasn’t taking care of himself, continuing to smoke etc. when he suffered a fatal heart attack and died in his home.342,33

Harry’s cremated remains have not been buried as of May 2016 and are in the care of his daughter Delphine. His wife Barbra is buried in a plot at Bigler Cemetery and a headstone is there with both their names. However due to the costs the family has not yet had Harry placed there. He had C.O.P.D.33

Fourteen months following Harry’s death his oldest son Charles passed away at age 48.3
