Obituary
Departed this life, at his residence about two miles from this place, on Tuesday evening last, the 29th of February, after an illness of several weeks, Isaiah Goodfellow, Esq., in the 60th year of his age.
As a citizen, the deceased was upright and honest – as a neighbor, kind and obliging – as a friend, affable and courteous – as a father and husband, his demeanor and example was such as to secure the esteem and affection of his family.
Mr. Goodfellow had for many years been a zealous member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in which he had filled many official stations, with credit to himself, and to the satisfaction of the church. And in the last moments of his life, he manifested unbounded confidence in that Redeemer, in whom he had trusted for many years. He died as he had live – a Christian.
