Christopher, the ancestor of the Pennock family, married, prior to 1675, Mary, the daughter of George Collett, of Clonmell, county of Tipperary, Ireland.

After residing there and in Cornwall, England, for some time, he emigrated to Pennsylvania about 1685. He was an officer in the service of King William of Orange, and was at the battle of Boyne, 1690. He died in Philadelphia in 1701. He left three children, two of whom died without issue.
