Obituary

CUMBERLAND - Nellie Mae Miller, 85, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at WMHS-Memorial Campus.

Born June 4, 1922, in Ellerslie, she was the daughter of the late John Stouffer Imler and Ethel Elinor (Lowery) Imler. Mrs. Miller was also preceded in death by her husband, P.R. Miller; her son, Gregory A. Miller; her brother, Floyd B. Imler; and her sister, Virginia L. Page.

Mrs. Miller worked for the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America and later retired as a waitress from the Holiday Inn. She was a member of the Lakewood Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 245 Ladies Auxiliary.

Nellie was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Her life was devoted to her children, whom she was extremely proud of, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren whom she adored. She was an exquisite seamstress, an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking. She had many happy memories of traveling to Europe and through the United States with her daughters and grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughters, Barbara A. Fridinger, Cumberland and Joie M. Rawley and husband Bob, Greenville, S.C.; her grandchildren, Charles Fridinger and wife Kristen, Greensboro, N.C., Laurie Fridinger Stolen and husband Randy, Fort Collins, Colo., Julie Rawley O'Toole and husband Chris, Raleigh, N.C., Craig W. Rawley and wife Kim, Simpsonville, S.C. and Nicole L. Rawley, Atlanta, Ga.; her great grandchildren, Ailey Keegan, Devin, Aidan and Garrett O'Toole, Lauren Grace Rawley, Karissa and Sophia Stolen, and Sierra Fridinger; her sisters, Izola Smith, Ellerslie, Shirley Stoy and husband Ray, Altoona, Pa.; and her brother, Harry I. Imler, Glendale, Ark.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
