All of the children of George Ellinger and his wife Barbara were [living] in the Clearfield Co, PA (Brady Township area) and some are buried there.

A John Ellinger was one of the first settlers of Bloom township. He settled in the year 1836, and has been a resident of the township ever since. His father, George Ellinger, settled at Luthersburg, in Clearfield county, in the year 1822, raised a family of ten children, and was one of the early pioneers of the county.
John Ellinger raised a family of eleven children, ten of whom are now living.

A John Ellinger settled in the eastern part of the [Bloom] township, coming from Brady. He was still living at an advanced age in 1887.... The Methodist Protestants ... held early meetings in the “Greenville” schoolhouse, James Cleary, who officiated for a time as a preacher, being a leading member of the society. Other members of this society were John Ellinger.
