Misc. Notes
Alice [Nancy Alice Bloom, Ruth’s grandmother] died (diabetes) when I was only four so I never really knew her, unfortunately. I regret that I was not interested in my forebears until recently so much information has been lost forever. I grew up in Windber, lived in Pittsburgh for about 30 years and retired to Brevard, North Carolina.

[More on Nancy Alice Bloom, Ruth’s grandmother] Unfortunately I have no memories of any direct relationship with her. I regret that, as I've come to believe that I resemble her, not so much in appearance, but in personality (for lack of a better word). For reasons unknown to me (and never discussed in the family) my mother did not like Alice. Therefore she was not included in family discussions.... She had a daughter (Eva) out-of-wedlock before she married Alonzo Kline. This of course was scandalous in my Puritan mother's eyes, and that probably contributed to the strained relationship between her and Alice?? (Who knows?)

Alice [Nancy Alice Bloom] was Harvey's mother and Harvey was my father. He was the only boy among 4 [?] girls of Alice and Alonzo Kline.
