Hezekiah DeWeese (1760-1839), was a soldier of the Revolution, who settled in Mecklenburg County, NC around 1800, on lands adjoining those of the Ramah Presbyterian Church. Hezekiah settled on the Mecklenburg side of the county line and his brother Isaiah DeWeese (1764-1844), settled across the line in Cabarrus Co. That area, on both sides of the line, was known as DeWeese, and still is.4262
