Levi was a very successful business man in life, he had but two months of schooling. He engaged in lumbering and farming and came to this place when only four acres had been yet cleared. He was enterprising and industrious and after building a log house and bam began to complete the clearing of his land. At the time of his death, June 5, 1896, he owned two other farms in Knox township. He was a Democrat in politics.1257

Levi was the third son of Abraham Bloom, he followed lumbering and farming, having resided in Pike Township all his life. He cleared and improved a fine homestead about two miles north of his father's farm. It was one of the outstanding farms of the county, now [1931] occupied by his grandson, Carl Dotts. He was one of the counties outstanding citizens, noted for his honesty, integrity and square dealing.2172
