Floyd E. Erhard, 94, passed away May 24, 2011, in Phoenix. He was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Curwensville, Pa., to Eugene and Malissa Erhard. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Perry, Clifford, Jim and Bud Erhard; sister, Mildred Pope; and his first wife, Irene Davis Erhard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, of Phoenix; brother, Clarence "Spider" Dascomb, of North East, Pa.; and sisters: Lucille Mayer of Ripley, Dorrie Adams of Bauxite, Ark., and Mary Dascomb, of Jumping Branch, W.Va.

Floyd graduated in 1937 from Mayville Central School as president of his senior class. Throughout his school career he was a sports star, especially in basketball. He attended Alfred and Cornell Universities. He served in the U.S. Army in the 86th BlackHawk Division and the Field Artillery Division during WWII as a liaison pilot. Later he led Special Services in Kobe, Japan, working with such great USO entertainers as Bob Hope.
