Misc. Notes
By the way, if you get interested in doing more on Dawn's side of the family, I have George's family information back about 100 years, and mine about 200, maybe a little more.  A few interesting facts:
1. George's grandfather, Rasmus Anton Rasmussen, immigrated from Denmark.  George (and therefore Dawn) still has cousins in Denmark, some of whom he met in the 60's when there on a Navy ship.
So Dawn is 1/8 Danish, as far as I know.  George's mother told me one of her ancestors rode for the Pony Express.  A good part of her heritage was Scottish. I believe her father  or grandfather was a doctor in Scotland, but when    he moved here he went into banking because his medical degree was not recognized here.  Dawn has a good bit of Scottish blood, some from both George and me.
2. My family, on both my parents' sides, entered this country in probably the early 1700's in North Carolina, then both sides immigrated to different parts of Alabama in the early 1800's. My paternal grandparents migrated (separately)    to Pensacola around 1900, and were married there.  My grandfather, James Daw, was the Captain of police, as well as having his own hauling business.  He was killed in a runaway horse/oxen accident when my father was only      about 2. My grandmother never remarried.  However, she was a very active and smart businesswoman, and both her son and daughter got college degrees.  My grandmother, Elizabeth Elon Pickens Daw, was also the first or one    of the first women to register to vote in Escambia County Florida (Pensacola) ever, when women got the vote.  (See?  Dawn comes by it honestly!)
