At a quiet ceremony in the English Lutheran Parsonage, Chicora, Rev. Marburger officiating, Wednesday afternoon, Miss Olive B. McElroy of Karns City RD#2, was united in marriage to Joseph K. McCollough, son of E. K. McCollough, also of Karns City RD#2.

Olive B. McCollough Smeltzer, 81, a resident of Shelocta RD#1 in Armstrong Co. since 1989, died Monday at Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. She formerly lived in Brady's Bend and Karns City.
Born May 1, 1921, in Kaylor, Armstrong Co., she was the daughter of James Harrison McElroy and Margaret Bishop McElroy. She had been a central processing technician at Butler Memorial Hospital and retired in 1984 after 28 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts.
Mrs. Smeltzer was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church of South Bend Twp, Armstrong Co., and a former member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chicora. She was a seventh degree member of Kaylor Grange 1396, where she served as juvenile matron and lecturer and was the 1999 Granger of the Year. She was a past secretary of Armstrong Pomona Grange 11.
She also belonged to the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Cedarettes, Elderton Senior Citizens, and the Burrell Twp. Golden Agers and was secretary of the Karns City Petroleum Valley Retirees. Surviving are three sons, James K. McCollough of Butler, Gary R. McCollough of Leechburg and Dennis W. McCollough of Karns City; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary Joyce) Graham of Bruin, Mrs. Ronald (Darlene) Cousins of Eldred, McKean Co., and Mrs. Ronald (Phyllis) Dodd of Karns City; two stepsons, Robert Smeltzer of Girty, Armstrong Co., and Ray Smeltzer of Blairsville; and two stepdaughters, Velva Wingren of Leechburg RD#1 and Mrs. Frank (Donna) McClain of Avon Park, Florida. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren, and six step-great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Harland L. Smeltzer, died Feb. 26, 2002. Her first husband, James K. McCullough, died April 1986. An infant son, infant twin great-grandsons, a brother and a stepson also preceded her in death.
SMELTZER - Friends of Olive B. McCollough Smeltzer, who died Monday, April 7, 2003, will be received at Clark Chapel of Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev Kevin Rea, officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Cemetery, Fairview Township
