The Jackman House
This is was our first home we rented when we first moved to Federal Way. The address was 31210 41st Place S.W. in what is known as the Twin Lakes subdivision.
We lived at this address for just a short time from August 1983 until April 1984. It was a very nice three bedroom home with a large unfinished basement. The house sat high above Puget Sound and afforded us a beautiful panoramic view of the water. From our vantage point we could see the Des Moines Marina, Sea-Tac Airport and Vashon Island just across the Sound. The unfinished basement gave us a lot of storage space, as well as a good place for our kids, Jaime and Matthew, to play. I hung swings from the rafters above and many of their large toys and bikes were kept there.
This photo was taken in 2003, but the home from the outside and the surrounding neighborhood showed little change.
