Emma's' natural father was Elias' brother William Hook. She was born before William married Nancy Wertz. I have a copy of a document saying William was the father of Emma and he stated the child was his. Emma had a legal guardian, Daniel Anderson.
She also ran a boarding house in Meyersdale. Cause of death was heart related. Paul Hook Sr. had memories of her riding in a model T wearing a red wig smoking a pipe.
Emma was raised in Elias [her uncle] and her mother Nancy's home. Paul Hook Sr.'s favorite aunt.3169

Emma died at Torrance State Hospital described as a “psychiatric facility,” and “one of six state hospitals in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”3170
